Sheltering in a Pandemic
Please excuse the mess.
Since I recently got married and moved to my new home, figuring out designated spaces and figuring out where to store things has always been a problem. Finding a studio space within my home was particularly difficult even before the pandemic began. Currently, my studio space is in the corner of my dining room. I like it because it feels bright and airy next to the window. Oscar, my mini dachshund, loves it too. He sits right next to me and guards the house through the window as I work. Ideally, I wanted a studio space that was tucked away somewhere that was not so visible if guests were to come over, but for now this had to do. This was the only space that was not carpeted. It has become a combination of a study space, an art space, and also a ceramics space. As we switched to online classes, I had put a table in the middle of the room for my ceramics class projects. (By the way, the wine bottle became a makeshift rolling pin to roll out clay slabs since I do not own a rolling pin). I have been trying to keep the floors clean but unfortunately, clay dust gets everywhere. I have also been stuffing my shelf with recyclables for future sculptures. I need to find somewhere to store these.
